Speed Leveling Cooking
If you're in a hurry to level up your toon's WoW cooking skill, This guide is definitely for you. Whether you need to level up your skill to make your own "stat" foods or to complete a time sensitive holiday cooking quest for an "achievement" award, you can use this guide from the comfort of your nearby Auction House. Keep in mind, your "Master" and "Grand Master" cooking trainers are not located anywhere near your Auction House and will require a trip to Outland or Northrend to visit them before advancing to those ranks.

Cooking Skill Levels
Getting Started
Before you can begin Cooking, you need to be trained as a Cooking "Apprentice". Fortunately, even level 1 toons can level up their cooking skill to 425. If you want to keep your chef at level 1, you'll need to get a teleport to Dalaran so you can train with the Grand Master Chefs, because a journey on foot will surely get you more experience points than you'll bargain for.

Speed Leveling Cooking Recipes
The BEST recipes for quick advancement are the recipes that have easy-to-buy ingredients available in your local Auction House. On nearly every server, fish-related (seafood) recipes are the fastest way to level up due to the abundant supply of recipes AND fish!

How Much Gold (will you need)?
Apprentice Cooking:	Skill levels 1-75	20gp for fish	+ 5gp for recipes	= 25 gold
Journeyman Cooking:	Skill levels 76-150	40gp for fish	+ 10gp for recipes	= 50 gold
Expert Cooking:	Skill levels 151-225	40gp for fish	+ 5gp for recipes	= 45 gold
Artisan Cooking:	Skill levels 226-300	75gp for fish	+ 30gp for recipes	= 105 gold
Master Cooking :	Skill levels 301-375	110gp for fish	+ 30gp for recipes	= 140 gold
Grand Master Cooking :	Skill levels 376-450	400gp for fish	+ 5gp for recipes	= 405 gold

Speed Leveling for Cooking: If you're in a hurry to level up your cooking skill, consider fishing in the Auction House to find fish for fish-related recipes (a.k.a seafood). Often times, fish are listed way below their normal market price. So, unless you're a purist, or completely broke, this is the BEST way to speed level your cooking skill. For those of you short on time, here is a brief list of fish and seafood recipes to look for in the Auction House if you are speed leveling / power leveling your cooking skill from 1 to 450: Speed Leveling Cooking Guide 1 - 150 (Apprentice thru Journeyman) Recipe Fish Levels Recipe: Brilliant Smallfish Raw Brilliant Smallfish 1 45 65 85 Recipe: Longjaw Mud Snapper Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper 50 90 110 130 Recipe: Bristle Whisker Catfish Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish 100 140 160 180 Notes: You'll need approximately 60 Smallfish, 60 Mud Snappers, and 60 Catfish to get your cooking skill to 150 before visiting your local cooking trainer and becoming an "Expert" Chef. Cost: Average Auction House expenses for this step are 75gp (60gp for fish and 15gp for recipes). Before you can advance beyond cooking skill of 150, visit a cooking trainer and learn "Expert" cooking skill. Then, continue using the Recipe: Bristle Whisker Catfish. Speed Leveling Cooking Guide 151 - 225 (Expert) Recipe Fish Levels Recipe: Bristle Whisker Catfish Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish 100 140 160 180 Recipe: Mithril Head Trout Raw Mithril Head Trout 175 215 235 255 Notes: You'll need approximately 60 Catfish and 60 Trout to get your cooking skill to 225 before visiting your local cooking trainer and becoming an "Artisan" Chef. Costs: Average Auction House expenses for this step are 45gp (40gp for fish and 5gp for recipes). To advance beyond Cooking Skill of 225, visit a cooking trainer and learn "Artisan" cooking. Speed Leveling Cooking Guide 226 - 300 (Artisan) Recipe Fish Levels Recipe: Spotted Yellowtail Raw Spotted Yellowtail 225 250 262 275 Recipe: Poached Sunscale Salmon Raw Sunscale Salmon 250 275 285 295 Recipe: Baked Salmon Raw Whitescale Salmon 275 300 312 325 Notes: You'll need approximately 25 Raw Spotted Yellowtail, 25 Raw Sunscale Salmon and 25 Raw Whitescale Salmon to get your cooking skill to 300 before visiting a Master cooking trainer and becoming a "Master" Chef. Costs: Average Auction House expenses for this step are 105gp (75gp for fish and 30gp for recipes). | Once you reach a cooking skill of 300, visit a master cooking trainer and learn "Master" cooking. Speed Leveling Cooking Guide 301 - 375 (Master) Recipe Fish Levels Recipe: Blackened Trout Barbed Gill Trout 300 320 330 340 Recipe: Golden Fish Sticks Golden Darter 325 345 355 365 Trainer: Pickled Fangtooth Fangtooth Herring 350 382 415 Notes: You'll need approximately 30 Barbed Gill Trout, 30 Golden Darters and 50 Fangtooth Herring to get your cooking skill to 375 before visiting a Grand Master Cooking Trainer and becoming a "Grand Master" Chef. Costs: Average Auction House expenses for this step are 140gp (110gp for fish and 30gp for recipes). Once you reach a cooking skill of 375, visit the Grand Master Cooking Trainer in Northrend and learn "Grand Master" cooking. The Grand Master Cooking Trainers in Northrend will teach you several recipes which can advance your cooking skill to 415. You will have to use recipes purchased with Dalaran Cooking Rewards from completing Dalaran Daily Cooking Quests in order to advance your cooking skill all the way to 450. Speed Leveling Cooking Guide 376 - 450 (Grand Master) Recipe Fish Levels Trainer: Pickled Fangtooth Fangtooth Herring 350 382 415 Recipe: Spicy Fried Herring Fangtooth Herring 400 420 460 Notes: You'll need approximately 400 Fangtooth Herring to get your cooking skill to 450. Costs: Average Auction House expenses for this step are 400gp (400gp for fish and 3 Cooking Award Points for recipes).
